We recently collaborated with Grace Civil to provide a 12-inch wide heavy-duty trench drain system for their operations facility in the Virgin Islands. This installation highlights our ability to meet the demands of industrial environments with highly durable and efficient drainage solutions.

Product Overview: Polymer Concrete Trench Drain with Ductile Iron Grates

The drainage system chosen for this project was made from polymer concrete and paired with ductile iron grates, offering several key advantages:

Durability: Polymer concrete is known for its high resistance to weathering and corrosion, making it ideal for coastal environments where exposure to elements like saltwater can be a concern.

High Load Capacity: The ductile iron grates are engineered to withstand heavy loads, a necessity in areas that experience frequent vehicle traffic or heavy machinery.

Efficient Water Management: The 12-inch wide channel design efficiently handles large volumes of water, providing effective flood prevention and helping ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Cost-Effective: The low-maintenance nature of both the polymer concrete and the ductile iron grates results in long-term cost savings and ensures easy access when maintenance is required.

Our use of polymer concrete in this project provides distinct advantages for heavy-duty load Class E applications, which demand materials that can withstand high loads and harsh conditions. Polymer concrete is a composite material known for its superior compressive strength, making it ideal for areas that experience intense vehicular traffic, such as industrial sites, ports, and loading docks. Its chemical resistance also makes it a perfect fit for environments exposed to oils, chemicals, and seawater, ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance compared to traditional concrete or metal alternatives.

The 12-inch wide trench drain system enhances water flow capacity, enabling the efficient management of large volumes of runoff, even during heavy rainfall or high-intensity water events. This wide channel design ensures that water is quickly diverted away from critical areas, reducing the risk of flooding and water damage. This feature makes the system especially suited for industrial environments, where effective water management is essential for both operational efficiency and safety.
