Project Scope
Stinson Arizona Kennels required a durable, efficient, and easy-to-maintain drainage system capable of handling wastewater, cleaning solutions, and pet waste while preventing clogging and odors. The project specifications called for a 128-linear-foot trench drain system with a counter-directional flow design leading to a centrally located in-line catch basin.
Tailored Drainage Solution
To meet the project's requirements, Swiftdrain supplied a high-performance kennel trench drain system featuring pre-sloped polymer concrete channels, which ensure optimal flow rates and resistance to chemicals and wear. The counter-directional flow configuration directs wastewater efficiently from both ends toward the central catch basin, optimizing drainage performance.
An in-line catch basin with a removable filter basket was incorporated to simplify maintenance and prevent solid waste from entering the main drainage system. To address the specific challenges of pet facilities, a custom fur basket trap was designed to capture hair and debris, reducing the risk of clogging and ensuring smooth operation. The system was completed with slip-resistant, corrosion-resistant stainless steel grates, providing a safe and sanitary surface for kennel staff and animals.
Execution & Compliance
We worked closely with Stinson Kennels' team to ensure the drainage system was designed and installed in full compliance with the provided specifications and plans. The system was engineered for seamless integration with the facility’s flooring layout, allowing for efficient wastewater management and easy cleaning.
